  • Suicide is real.

After hearing what happened to me I’d be lying if I said I understood it all. All I knew was that I’d be fine in a few days. However, those days turned to weeks and those weeks turned to months. I had no idea and as fragmented as my mind was while in the ICU; Continue reading

  • Stroke 101

So I’m sure the word “Stroke” has been thrown around a lot and all I remember saying was “I thought that only happened to older people ” I found out the hard way…it doesn’t! and little did I know it would change so much of my daily life. So let’s start out with “what is Continue reading

My main goal was to walk without assistance again. I went from walking with my own two feet to a wheelchair literally over night & that Continue reading

  • That long road

I definitely was tired but more so mentally not physically. I mean It felt like my body was on autopilot and I just thought what was the purpose because I saw no progress. I literally did therapy and just went home because I didn’t want to do anything else. I was tired of putting in Continue reading

  • Back to our regularly scheduled program

So here we are at like the beginning of February and the days I was in the hospital were running together. But my time in ICU was finally coming to an end and I couldn’t wait to get home (or at least I thought). After my time in ICU they transferred me to the stroke Continue reading

About Me

I am from the south side of Chicago near the englewood area. Many things were instilled in me and one thing I remember being told was to take care of myself. As I got older I strayed away from that but the past year has taught me so much in taking care of yourself mind, body, and spirit.
